The 8th annual Closets & Home Organization Conference & Expo will hit the stage February 15-17 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas, the "Live Music Capital of the World."
The capital city of Texas and home of the University of Texas has earned its reputation for great music not only for the dozens of clubs serving up a lively mix of band performances each night, but for the annual South by Southwest Music and Film Interactive and long-running TV series "Austin City Limits."
Fresh off the heels of a highly successful event in Charlotte, NC, the 2012 Closets Conference & Expo will again feature the Custom Cabinet Conference, sponsored by the Cabinet Makers Association and Custom Woodworking Business, plus an all-new-and-improved Wood Tech Summit. The fast-paced event features two days of product displays and three days of education and networking at the Austin Convention Center.
The opening day of the Closets Conference, Wednesday, Feb. 15, will feature an all-star line up, including:
- Keynoter Vince "Mr. Invincible" Papale, whose story of becoming the oldest rookie in NFL history was portrayed by Mark Wahlberg in the hit Disney film "Invincible."
- Amanda LeBlanc, star of The Style Network series "The Amandas," which chronciles the trials and tribulations of professional organizers, will emcee the 2012 Top Shelf Design Awards and be available on the expo floor.
- Liza Hausman, Vice President, Marketing of the popular consumer remodeling site Houzz.com, will present results from a brand new study of consumer home storage wants.
Jeff Klein, president of the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals, cosponsor of the Closets Conference along with CLOSETS magazine, said, "The board of ACSP is excited about rallying the closet troops in Austin next February. We expect to recognize the first graduating class of our newly launched Designer Certification program, which was introduced in Charlotte last February and introduce our ACSP Designer Training Program. If you are in the Closet and Storage Professional industry, you need to heed the advice of that great philosopher 'The Fonz,' -- "Be there or be square."
"Bringing the Closets Expo and Conference to Austin next year is in keeping with our philosophy to move this very unique event around the country," said Rich Christianson, associate publisher of CLOSETS. "Texas has a special place in our hearts because the very first, and highly successful Closets Conference was held in Dallas in 2005. We feel that Austin is an ideal setting for our event, not only because of its moderate February temperatures, but because there are many great music venues, restaurants and historical attractions within walking distance of the convention center and headquarter hotels."
